Scottish bagpipes and a classical violin burst out of their customary roles into full-on
rock, relentless drums leap from metal to punk to prog, while haunting lyrics are
chanted by a pure, aggressive and seductive feminine voice. Xamavar's compositions
are far-reaching, their melodies addictive and the overall effect is a fresh new genre of
music, relating to many existing styles but owned by none.
